Request for Representation Intake Form
Confidentiality Note: All responses to this questionnaire will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by law and within the confines of the collective bargaining agreement.
Filing and Document Submission Deadlines
You, as the party filing a grievance or EEO complaint, are responsible for meeting all filing and documentation/informational submission deadlines. It is not the duty of your Union representative, the EEO Counselors, Alternative Dispute Resolution specialists, or Harassment Prevention advisor to send you reminders. Pay special attention to all emails you receive pertaining to your grievance or complaint as time is of the essence when responding.
If you have any questions regarding deadlines or how to respond, reach out to info@afge2883ga.org or your assigned representative as soon as possible. DO NOT wait until the last minute.
Grievances
AFGE Local 2883 bargaining unit employees have 15 working days to file a Step-1 grievance. You must be a bargaining unit employee to use the negotiated grievance procedure.
EEO Complaints
Initial contact with an EEO Counselor/Office must be within 45 calendar days of the date of the alleged discrimination or knowledge of discrimination.
When you select EEO Complaint as your activity type, your assigned steward will track your case through the federal EEO process and you will receive automated deadline reminders.
NOTE: You can file a grievance or a formal EEO complaint, but not both.
